QT: Grace To Grass Counterattack System

Chapter 179 Little Mandron Soldier 2.0

The humans and andronians were alarmed but decided not to let their fear get to them. The humans had evolved to become much stronger and with much longer lifespans. Adding the intelligence of the scholarly andronians, both species decided to combine their armies to resist the Xors.

Twelve army strongholds were set up with six Marshals from Andron heading half and six Marshals from Earth heading the other half. Each army also had a mixture of human and andronian soldiers to maximize combat power and effectiveness.

Over the years, all twelve armies undertook missions to clear out the surrounding Stellar planets and beyond from Xors with much difficulty. That is until a remarkable individual became the General of the Fifth Division of the Third army.

This remarkable individual was called Ding Weimin and he was the first special one of the task realm. He was also human and the grandson of Marshal Ding of the Third army.

Ding Weimin had performed excellently well throughout his education and had joined his grandfather\'s Third army as a Sergeant. Not only was he praised for his genius battle tactics, he was also blessed with amazing strength. To the extent that it was rumoured that his light weapons were mere extensions of his arms.

He blazed through hives of Xors, earning the praise and admiration from the humans, andronians and even mandrons. Ding Weimin became the youngest ever three star general known throughout the Plexar system.

He was bragged about by humans, the andronians were too awed by his might to be jealous and the mandrons could only gaze upon his pictures and videos with looks of longing.

In summary, he was the pride of the entire Plexar system and tales of his exploits were turned into bed time stories for kids of all species and used as motivation by youths to push themselves to do better.

The lofty and highly admired Ding Weimin stood gracefully at the top... Until disaster struck.

The twelve armies all prepared to travel over to the Solar system to put an end to the Xors. The plan had been going beautifully, until they arrived at the Solar system and realized it was completely destroyed.

The magnetic pull from Pandox was much greater than the sun could resist so the large star had been pulled towards Xor, crashing through all other seven planets and blowing up in the process. A large part of Pandox had also blown up, taking with it billions of Xors.

A large number of Xors had managed to survive but more Xors ended up freezing to death due to the lack of sunlight. With the drastic turn of events, the hive had been split into three -with lower levelled queens in two- and moved to different Stellar systems on different spiral arms of the Milky Way.

The Twelve-army coalition had been disappointed due to the turn of events and decided to head back to their Planetary system but before they could get very far, they were ambushed.

Just as humans had evolved to become stronger and more sophisticated, the Xors had also evolved to become smarter.

The Third army had unfortunately been separated from the other eleven and had been even more unfortunate enough to run into the legion of Xors protecting the two lower levelled queens.

Marshal Ding and Ding Weimin had worked hand in hand to destroy a lot of the Xor army. Once both queens were no longer capable of spawning new Xors to aid in the fight, they decided to blow up their energy, ready to take down the Third army with them.

The soldiers of the Third army had managed to get to safety but not before Ding Weimin had sacrificed himself to contain the energy of both queens.

Xors naturally harnessed magnetic energy and were anaerobic. Which was why they were able to survive in outer space without protection unlike the humans and andronians who had to cover themselves up in protective gadgets to counter the unavailability of gravity in space and enable breathing.

That magnetic force was even larger in the queens and Ding Weimin had absorbed it all. The only thing that prevented the special one from being blown to bits was his protective covering but even then, the gear was blown to pieces and Ding Weimin had been covered in deep wounds from head to toe.

Marshal Ding tried to get to his grandson but the magnetic energy flowing out of the young man was so overwhelming and caused two soldiers who tried to stubbornly head over to Ding Weimin to blow up to pieces.

Luckily, the other eleven armies finally showed up and an empty spaceship had been used to hold Ding Weimin before he ran out of oxygen.

A video of the event had been released to the general public and all three species burst out in tears and cried out in sorrow and pity. That was their hero. Ding Weimin had selflessly placed himself in the trajectory of danger in order to protect his soldiers.

Soldiers who were part of the Fifth Division and people who had relatives in the both the Fifth Division and the Third army in general all expressed immense gratitude to Ding Weimin. What he had done was truly honourable. Not many would dare.

The Ding family, on the other hand, fell silent at that point. Ding Weimin\'s parents were in sorrow. The death or sacrifice of a soldier during war was praised by outsiders as selfless and honourable. Only the family of said soldier knew the pain and anguish that they had to go through.

Ding Weimin had been locked up in a protected room because the energy that he gave off was capable of causing death to whoever was close enough. It had also been estimated that the man wouldn\'t have lived past eight months as the energy would tear him apart from inside.

Mother Ding had repeatedly wailed herself unconscious. Her son was so young, hadn\'t even gotten married or fathered a child. How could he die this way? Father Ding was not much better.

Seeing the state of his son and daughter-in-law and also the increasingly hopeless look that was etched upon Ding Weimin\'s face -even as he was neck deep in pain, Marshal Ding decided. Even if his grandson could never get married or father a child at this point, he could at least have someone accompany him from time to time through the demarcation.

What father and mother Ding did anytime they stared at their son was cry and frown in sorrow. Marshal Ding needed someone to cheer Ding Weimin up. His grandson\'s last memories on Earth shouldn\'t be filled with only pain, tears and sorrow.

So Marshal Ding had put out a notice, looking for a companion for his grandson. If it was before, leagues of people from all three planets would form a line that would go round the Earth three times but after the accident... Who would dare?

They had all been made aware of Ding Weimin\'s chaotic state and as much as they adored the hero, no one was willing to risk their lives. Even after repeated assurances by the Ding family that no one would be risking their lives.

Marshal Ding gave up sadly but then someone soon reached out. It was Yang Zhi, one of the Senior Officers in the Third army with the rank of Major. Marshal Ding was pleasantly surprised and very touched. Yang Zhi had three daughters, which one of them had agreed? He wanted a female because he wanted someone to appeal to Ding Wei\'s emotion side and keep him happy.

The Marshal soon realized that Yang Zhi was not presenting his daughter but the mandron son he\'d fathered with a mandron female. He\'d specially gone over to Cladis to fetch the eighteen year old from his mother, who had mysteriously died.

Yang Xue, like every other mandron, was not very smart. The mandrons were not pitifully dumb but they were incapable of carrying out complex thought processes. They were quite simple minded and took things literally.

Yang Xue\'s mother had suddenly died and a man had appeared before him claiming to be his father, the man even had DNA proof and what not. Even if Yang Xue had been sorrowful over his mother\'s sudden death, he was glad that he at least had a father now.

Yang Zhi had spoken with his estranged son and realized that, just like many youths, Yang Xue idolized Ding Weimin and worshipped the very air the man breathed. This had made it very easy to manipulate the simple minded boy into agreeing to become Ding Weimin\'s companion.

When Yang Xue was presented to him with face full of smiles, Marshal Ding had thought nothing of it. Although the mandrons had low IQ, they were not stupid and were fully capable of refusing situations they felt uncomfortable with. Besides, Yang Xue thought very highly of Ding Weimin and even if the boy was not female, him and Ding Weimin could still be close friends.

Yang Xue was taken into the Ding family home. Surprisingly, he received the scorn of both andronians and humans for being an idiot mandron and daring to become their hero\'s companion.

After the two were introduced through the protective barrier, Ding Weimin completely ignored Yang Xue but Yang Xue didn\'t mind. He was before his hero, who cared if everybody hated him or if the said hero ignored him?

No one knew but he\'d always wanted to become a soldier. Sadly everyone said it was impossible due to his low IQ so Yang Xue had no choice but to settle for living his fantasy through Ding Weimin.
